]]> Moveable or Transportable Equipment is equipment with wheels, castors or other means to facilitate movement by the operator as required to perform its intended use e.g. air conditioning unit or portable heaters. Such equipment may be considered “transportable” rather than portable, but will still be connected to its supply where applicable by a flexible cable and plug. The risk of damage which may cause the safety of transportable equipment to be compromised can be high. Also, the use of some transportable equipment carries high risk due to the very nature of its use (e.g. a high pressure steam/water cleaner) and in such circumstances transportable equipment can present a greater hazard than most portable equipment, therefore the requirement to periodically test must also
apply to transportable equipment.
